President:  Efren Munoz, Jr.

20180401_102340I am a fourth year at Wayne State University. I study Honors Biomedical Physics with a minor in Physics. I am a member of the professional pre-Health fraternity Delta Epsilon Mu. I am a member of the ReBUILDetroit Consortium and an undergrad researcher in Dr. Carolyn Harris’ Lab, focusing on Python, Arduino, and medical devices utilizing these languages as they carry out tasks related to hydrocephalus patient care. My goal is to continue into a doctorate biomedical engineering program. I hope to expand my skill set in graduate school and take what I learn into industry.

Hi I am Justin Verriest and I am a physics major, and the Secretary of SPS. I work on a political campaign, help run the Student Astronomical Society, and am a part of the fraternity FIJI here on campus. In the summers I coach sailing as well as race competitively on big boats. I love the physics community here on campus and hope to contribute to its growth and success in the coming years.

I am in my fourth year majoring in physics with minors in mathematics and computer science. I currently am doing undergraduate research under the direction of Dr. Putscke, using jets to study the quark-gluon plasma that results from heavy ion collisions. I plan on continuing to graduate school, and am undecided whether I will pursue a career in research or industry.
