Mark your calendars for the first monthly SPS meeting, Thursday September 22nd, from 3pm – 4pm in room 224 of the physics building at 666 W. Hancock. At this meeting we will discuss upcoming events for the fall semester and have our first undergraduate research presentation. We hope that everyone can make it!
See you there, SPS Board
The SPS Board hopes that everyone is having a great summer! Don’t forget that this coming Monday (June 27) the SPS is hosting our Physics and Atronomy Department picnic on the north side of the Physics Building (666 W Hancock). There will be games, food, and tons of fun! Sign up to bring a dish in the main office (room 135) or send the SPS an email.
Limited amounts of biomedical physics and physics & astronomy t-shirts will be sold at the event for $10 each or two for $18.
Later in the evening, we will all move to the roof of the Physics Building to enjoy the annual Detroit-Windsor fireworks!
See you there, SPS Board
The Society of Physics Students is happy to announce that we are co-hosting a final semester event with the Astronomy Club! This event will be a game night with pizza, drinks, and liquid nitrogen ice cream! A Wii will be provided with Mario Kart as well as card games. Please feel free to bring any other games that you want for a good time! The event will be on Thursday, April 21st at 4:30 PM in room 224 of the Physics building. Finals can be stressful, so hopefully everyone can make it, and enjoy the last event of the year before having a great summer!
Vote for your 2016-2017 SPS officers! Voting ends Friday, March 25!
We are just a few days away from the Zone 7 meeting! The meeting will be held in the WSU Planetarium. The address and map can be found here:
For this meeting, We recommend parking in Parking Structure 8 (credit card only). Information regarding parking can be found at:
There is also a lot across the street from the planetarium on the corner of Cass and Hancock (next to Tim Horton’s). This lot costs $5 (cash only) and is not run by the University, but is a fine place to park if you’d prefer. You can also find free street parking south of campus, but the parking structure or the private lot across the street are probably the easiest options.
